ALLEN

District School #4

located in the northwest corner of the town...

Below, BASSWOOD HILL SCHOOL; Town of Allen

District School #8 (See Map Inset below).

1921/1922 School Year.

submitted by Larry Browning.

The school was at Allen Center in the Town of Allen.  The teacher must have gotten married.  Because my mother listed her first teacher Frances Barney. (LB)

The District #8 Schoolhouse was located in the very center of the Allen Center, shown on map just below the letter "P.O." and the residence of Jno. Watts, & just above the Cemetery.  This map is the 1869 Atlas of Allegany County, section - Town of Allen
