Cuba Block Barn; The Block Barn is a magnificent cement block structure located on Route 305 (South Street) on the southern edge
of the village. Built in 1909, the building is 347 feet long and 50 feet wide. Because it is made of concrete block with poured cement floors and ceilings, it is entirely fireproof. (For

This will be easily recognized by many I am sure as the Cuba Lake Pavilion area. Shared by
former Wellsville Town Historian, Diane Converso, this photo shows the merry-go-round & the outline of a racetrack in the upper left area. Did the area have a horse track prior to the startup of stock car racing at that location? If anyone can give me a summary history of the area I would
appreciate hearing from you. The photo was done by “Ariel Surveys, Henry DeWolfe” of Rochester.
