WHO IS IT? (See below photo for answer....)

4 Generations?

from Mary Rhodes, Nathaniel Dyke Museum, Wellsville NY,

"We recently received some pictures from David Brown of Corning NY. David's hobby is collecting glass plate negatives. A recent purchase was identified as Wellsville NY. David scanned the negatives and inverted the colors - the result is a beautiful print - but unidentifieds.

This picture looks to me like 4 generations of a family. I wonder if you might post it for viewer comments."

DO YOU KNOW WHO IT IS?  With comments and/or answers,

The photo is of a part of my family.  The tall gentleman in the middle is Mark Hyslip (sr.) and I guess that the son is Mark Jr.  The gentleman on the right my great grandfather William Duke the Hall of Fame horse trainer.  I am also guessing that the gentleman on the left is Mark Hyslip's father.

Mark was married to Ella Duke Hyslip and theirs was a great love story with them both living into their 90s.  Aunt Ella was William's hostess when he was in France training for William Vanderbilt and the Aga Kahn.  There is a story about them in the Museum written by Joan Duke Gambrell several years ago.

Thanks for showing the picture, I would love confirmation about the Hyslip generations and a copy of the picture for the Museum.
 George Duke 2/17/2010

Verified with another family member, the gentleman on the left is Charles Hyslip, father of Mark Hyslip, Sr.
