DONALD R. SEAMANS
WELLSVILLE—Donald R. Seamans, 81, of 480 County Route 18, a former Bolivar resident, died Friday (March 14, 2003) in Jones Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born Oct. 6, 1921, in the town of Alma, he was a son of Olney and Emogene Thomas Seamans. On Dec. 21, 1970, in Mount Morris, he married the former Margaret L. Pinney, who died April 19, 1996.
Mr. Seamans was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with a motor pool division in the European Theater. He was a self- employed logger and automobile mechanic. He was a member of the Alma Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are two stepsons, Michael (Debra) D’Antonio of Alma and Edward D’Antonio of Mississippi; a stepdaughter, Virginia D’Antonio of Yonkers; five stepgrandchildren; one step great- granddaughter, Melinda Wigent of Alma; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Seamans and Dallas Seamans; and two sisters, Josephine Pepper and Irene Woodard.
There was no public visitation or funeral service. Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery Bolivar.
Memorials to the Alma Volunteer Fire Department, the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corp. or to the SPCA Serving Allegany County would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar.
