Wellsville Daily Reporter   page 2,  Wednesday  January 15, 1936

Sidney J Meek, 76, a resident of Knights Creek vicinity all his life, and for many years a driller in the Allegany oil field,  died at Jones Memorial Hospital at 5 am today..   He was born in Scio,  Feburary 5, 1859, a son of Johm and Maryetta Stonenum Meek.   He married Della McLeod, but she preceded him in death.    Surviving are three sisters -  Mrs Ida Fish of Scio,  Mrs S.J. Cleveland of Allentown and Mrs Belle McGill of Buffalo;  and four brothers:  Giles, Frank and John of Salamanca and Arthur of Kansas..  Private services will be held in the Mulholland funeral home at 2 pm Friday.  The Rev John Mann of Scio officiating.   Burial will be in Knights Creek Cemetery......

Mrs Mary A Cady, died at her home in Scio, Sunday night, May 16, 1915 at 10:30  o'clock.  Deceased was a lifelong resident of the town of Scio, where she was born on April 13, 1840, the daughter of John Peterson and Charlotte Burhl Peterson.   She was married to R. Alonzo Cady, who died on July 13, 1912.    Mrs Cady is survives by two children,  Edward Cady of Allentown  and Delbert Cady of Bolivar, and by a grand daughter  Mrs Arthur Taylor. with whom she made her home, and six other grand children..  Also two sisters   Mrs Amanda  Martin of Hickox, Pa, and Mrs Elizabeth Morris of Clara, Pa,  and three brothers-   Edward Peterson and Charles Peterson of Scio,  and William Peterson of Roulette, Pa...She was a member of the Disciple Church of Scio.   The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Knights Creek Church,  Rev R.H. Sawtelle of Scio officiting...

Found Dead In Bed

Mrs Charoltte Peterson an aged woman who lives with her daughter, Mrs R. Cady on Knights Creek, five miles from here, was found dead in bed this morning.   Coroner Gillette of Cuba was notified and after an investigation decided that death was due to natural causes.   Deceased was 83 years of age.  The widow of John Peterson and is survived by a number of children.  The funeral will probably be held saturday...

 Scio- May 10 --  Mrs Charolette Peterson, widow of John Peterson, died suddenly at the home of her daughter,  Mrs Cady, in the town of Scio,  Tuesday night  May 6th.  The funeral was held at the Curch of Christ in Scio, Friday.  Services being conducted by Rev Charles Bloom.  The obsequies were attended by a large company of people, most of whom knew the deceased as a woman of sterling Christian character and unbounded sympathy.  She attended divine worship at her home church, on the Sunday preceding her death, and was there affectionately greeted by many.   Mrs Peterson was 83 years of age.  She leaves besides many other relatives, the following childred-   Henry of Duke Center, Pa,  William, Edward, Charles, Mary and Amanda of Bradford Pa.....
