Betty Jean Maddren, 76, a homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005. A service is planned for a later date. Abbey-Riposta Funeral Home (850-562-1518) is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. She moved here a year ago from Jensen Beach, where she had lived many years. She was an active member of the Rio Civic Club in Jensen Beach. Survivors include a son, Jay Mitchell Maddren (and wife Anne) of Palm City; a daughter, Deborah Lee Maddren of Tallahassee; and a brother, Gary Hilligas of Allentown, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Maddren.
