JOHN W. "Jack" EAMES
WELLSVILLE -- John W. "Jack" Eames, 79, of 274 North Main Street died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) in the Highland Healthcare Center after a long illness.
He was born December 5, 1923, in Westfield, PA., a son of Walter R. and Celia Wilson Eames.
On August 16, 1958, in Wellsville, he married Pauline Potter who survives him.
He was a graduate of Wellsville High School and in World War II he served with the U.S. Army.
He had resided in the Wellsville area for the past 40 years and until recently had lived on the Fords Brook Road.
He had been employed as an auto parts clerk for the Wellsville Auto Parts Store and until retirement at Pfuntner's Chrysler Sales.
He enjoyed woodworking and was known as an expert cabinetmaker. He was also fond of caring for the plants and shrubs around his home, that he had built himself on Fords Brook Road. He also enjoyed his pet poodles.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Pauline are a sister Eleanor E. Leon of Andover, a niece, grand niece and several cousins.
Friends may call at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at which time services will be held, with the Reverend Lee Williams of the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville
officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Wellsville.
Memorials are requested for the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corp or the Allegany County SPCA.
