OBITUARY

Harriet M. Edwards-Whitesville
 
Mrs. Harriet M. Edwards. 96, oldest resident of Town of Independence,
of Wildman Avenue, Whitesville died at Jones Memorial Hospital on October 9. 1973 
following a long illness.
 
She was born November 4, 1876, in Whitesville, a daughter of Walter S. Landon and the
former Ohelia M. Baker. She married Alvin W. Edwards on October 16, 1897 in Whitesville. 
He preceded her on December 15, 1945.
 
She was a member of the Whitesville United Methodist Church for 80 years; a 50-year member 
of the West Union Grange.
 
Survivors include one son, John W. Edwards of Rexville; one grandson Raymond A. of Rexville; 
five great grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
 
Friends may call at the Wildman Funeral Home Inc., 931 Maple St., Whitesville on Thursday 
from 7-9 p.m. Funeral and comittal services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. 
United Methodist Church of Whitesville with Rev. Wilbur Beers, pastor of the Hallsport 
Community Wesleyan Church.
 
Burial will be in Whitesville Rural Cemetery.
