PASSING THE TORCH

From past president Shirley Engle

I am delighted to pass on the President’s hat to Jane Pinney, Jane is capable, dedicated and enthusiastic and I know she will do a great job. I will continue to support the historical society by serving as museum curator, newsletter editor and by volunteering when and where I can. Thank you all for your support, past, present and future.

From our new president Jane Pinney

It is my privilege to be your newly elected president. Thank you for electing me. I am aware that I will have a hard job filling Shirley’s shoes, but I will try, I enlist your patience and support.

I am also grateful for a fine, supporting slate of officers and trustees. Together you have the experience I lack, so I look forward to your advice to help me stay on the right path.

We have a busy and rewarding year ahead of us. As an example, I know that the 1806-2006 Allegany County Bicentennial Celebration will be exciting and there are sure to be scheduled events in which the museum will be a key participant.

Last but not least, I thank all of you members for your past and present vision, support and continuing dedication to our organization.
